Looking for some fun near your hotel in Beijing? Getting ready to unwind yourself after a busy day? Demanding one of a kind nightlife experience to electrify your Beijing stay?

Then you have to go to the Sanlitun Street with Beijing’s top bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs.

Even international celebrities, including gold medalist Michael Phelps, movie star Vince Vaughn and soccer star Renaldhino visited the bars here during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The street known to locals as ‘the bar street’, is in the famous embassy area, only a few hundreds yards away from Beijing’s east 3rd Ring Road. Every day from afternoon till late night, this bar street is packed with party goers: expats, foreign tourists, and locals who are looking for party fun.

The street comprises two parts: Sanlitun North and Sanlitun South. Sanlitun North is where most bars are located, where you could rock until early morning. It’s quite nearthe 4 star Beijing Taiyue Suites Hotel.

The north street plays host to several dozen bars, most of which have tables outside where you can sit for a drink. The treat can be soothed even in Beijing’s sweaty summer, for the dense leaves of trees allows you to enjoy the cool shade out of the sun.

Most of the bars on the street offer liquor and beer from around the world to cater to an increasing number of international customers. Some even offer drinks from your hometown!

Despite this, many visitors to China fall in love with local draft beers such as Yangjing and Tsingtao, which are palatable and refreshing by anyone’s taste. Each of the beers sells around RMB 25, which is a little expensive in Beijing, but still cheaper than back home.

Another good spot for cheap drinksis the bar at the Beijing Avic hotel.

When night falls, bars usually put on stage live performances, and soon the party reaches its climax. Party goers wiggle to the hip beats the band play, bartenders work on exhibition flair, and waitresses weave in and out of the crowds to serve your beers. The spirit might be a little different, but with all these fun, who cares!

Of course, if you are looking for a quiet ambience to have a conversation with friends, you could dive into the alleyways there offering just that. The ambience can be quite nice and romantic.

With many bars offering salad, hamburgers, spaghetti, and soup, you could get a quick fix dinner if you miss the time. Otherwise, just walk for a couple of minutes to the Sanlitun South for a formal meal.

Sanlitun South plays host to a few restaurants offering all kinds of south Asian and international cuisines. Their delicious food draws a lot of ambassadors and diplomats to come to try.

Alright, now you are acquainted to the street, and you are ready to set out for a great winning & dining experience while in BeijingWarning: too much drink may make you can’t get back to your Beijing hotel, and miss your Great Wall tour the next morning!
