For many people, when they think of Ireland, they imagine beautiful green hills and small simple villages. Such sights can be beautiful on a warm sunny day. But what’s a traveler to do when the wind starts to whip, or it’s pouring rain? Here are a few great hidden Ireland tours you can take indoors.

Tour the Guinness Storehouse. Located in the heart of the St James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, the Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s leading attraction for Ireland tours. There is a great deal to be learned about the famous beer in the Storehouse, as well as see how it’s made, get a view of the Dublin skyline, and taste the product at its freshest state.

The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum gives a representation of life in Ulster from the far past to present day. The Folk Museum lets you stroll through a typical Ulster town of the early 1900s and explore its farms, cottages, crops and livestock. It’s a fascinating look at small-town Irish life.

In Dublin, you can see the incredible Irish Art and European masters collection at the National Gallery, as well as see the amazing collection of sacred text and the miniature paintings from the world’s greatest religions at the Chester Beatty Library. No Ireland tour is truly complete without a visit to at least one of its spectacular museums.

Lastly, wherever you visit in the beautiful country, you must see one of its many majestic castles. While some remain in ruins, a great number have been preserved and restored. Among these is Florence Court, one of Ulster’s most important 18th-century houses. Carrickfergus Castle is also popular with many Ireland tours. With its imposing Norman architecture, the castle played an important military role until 1928 and is today one of the best-preserved medieval structures in Ireland.
