Holidays are Being Snapped Up
The time of year has approached us again, the sun is shining and people want to get away. The media have continuously stated that holidays are suffering a huge amount and people are not really going to be travelling as much this year. But is this all true?
Despite all the negative economic talk, more and more people are booking and going on holidays. Despite the power of the currency, Europe is still the main destination for holidaymakers, with just over 40% of those surveyed saying they will be going somewhere on the continent this year. It is also said that travellers will be spending exactly the same amount of money that was spent in previous years.
Vacations are slightly down and this is most likely due to all of the media talk behind it all, I can 100% say that if it was not so hyped up in the media then folk would not have a clue that we were in any type of recession. As we already know UK holiday bookings are up a huge amount so could this possibly be one of the main reasons as to why the media have publicised the credit crunch so much? Is it likely to scare folk into staying and taking a break in the UK so that they pump cash back into the economy, instead of spending it overseas.
What ever the reason may be people are ignoring all the advice and still travelling abroad, to destinations such as Turkey and Egypt. But if you take a look at the situation you will realise that holidaying abroad will probably end up working out to be a lot cheaper then the UK.
