Did you know that there’s a fare war going on this recession? A month ago, Southwest Airlines ran a sale offering flights for all planes traveling less than 375 miles. Airtran was quick to follow suit and it appears American Airlines is the latest provider to hop on the band wagon. The trick to get these best airline deals is that you must book by November 10 and agree to travel from December 2-16 or January 5 to February 20. You’ll also have to add on taxes and fees and leave on a day other than Sunday, but you can still plausibly get a ticket from LA to Las Vegas, Indianapolis to Chicago or Oklahoma City to Dallas. In addition to the fares, the airlines are also offering flights (up to 549 miles), flights (up to 999 miles) and 0 flights (longer air travel). Budget Travel Magazine is offering reader codes that provide cheap hotels and flights for Jamaica. Your week-long vacation will include airfare, breakfast and seven nights in a one-bedroom suite at Serenity Villa in Ochos Rios, Jamaica starting as low as $661. They’ve also begun offering tremendous deals to the beaches of Spain, the ancient ruins of Greece and the shopping districts of Milan. Travelers must take their overseas trip from November 2 to March 28 and book at least seven days in advance. The discount airline deals do not include December 21-23 and you can only depart on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Sample round-trip flights from Las Vegas include trips to London (8), Athens (8), Madrid (8), Milan (8), Paris (8) and Rome (8).
Expedia and LAN are offering cheap flights to Latin America, a region known for its pricey plane tickets. Visitors love Latin America for its culture, warm weather, pristine beaches, stunning architecture, Renaissance churches, palatial estates and historical sites. Holiday fares begin at 0 round-trip if you book and travel by December 30. There may be several black-out dates and you will need to add taxes and fees to your ticket price, but even so, these cheap airfares can’t be beat!
