A Tour of Las Vegas Casinos
Las Vegas, undoubtedly the casino capital of the United States, has a casino for everyone! Casinos cover every square inch of the infamous Las Vegas Strip. In fact, there are so many casinos that most visitors never get a chance to visit them all!
The Bellagio should be your first stop when walking the Las Vegas Strip. Bellagio features 3982 rooms and suites and is operated by MGM Grand Mirage. Bellagio’s world-famous water show out front is enjoyed by many passersby. In addition the casino/gigantic megaresort also features the O Theater, as well as lounges and bars such as the Fontana Bar, Allegro Bars and the Nectar Bar. The O Theater has hosted some amazing magic trick performances and traveling shows like Cirque Du Soleil.
For those looking for a rollercoaster, don’t forget to stop by the New York, New York or the Stratosphere. These two casino-resorts boast the most popular rides for all ages on the entire Las Vegas Strip. The Stratosphere stands 1149 ft above the strip and then tosses its riders up and down from a seat on its roof. This is not for the fearful of heights. While riding the New York, New York rollercoaster you’ll be transported outside the casino as well as inside.
If you’re really into the rollercoaster scene in Las Vegas, you may consider heading 30 minutes off the strip to Buffalo Bill’s. With 1,242 rooms, some super-suites used for wedding packages, this hotel-casino stands out even though its not on the strip. These suites can include wet bars and Jacuzzi tubs. Buffalo Bill’s even will treat you to an array of food options with Baja Bar & Grill, Wagon Master Coffee Shop, La Salsa Mexican Grille, Miss Ashley’s Buffet, and Frisella’s Roastery. The Star of the Desert Arena, which has 6000 seats, is one of Buffalo Bill’s main attractions. This is where concerts and other shows are held and as well as amazing magic tricks are performed. But for the roller-coaster junkie, Buffalo Bill’s offers two fun rides, the Desperado rollercoaster and the Turbo Drop Thrill ride.
If you’re looking more for thrills and fun for the whole family head back to the Las Vegas Strip, to Circus Circus in South Las Vegas. This is the first themed resort in the city operated by the Mandalay Resort Group. And it’s made to entertain the whole family, especially those family members under 18! The hotel built, in the center, a giant fairground, the AdventureDome, filled with rides, games and food! On top of the games and rides, Circus Circus holds regular Big Top Shows to entertain and amaze. Your dining options in the hotel are the The Steak House, Stivali Italian Ristorante, Blue Iguana Las Vegas, and The Pink Pony.
Excabilur, with its dungeons and Merlin theme, is another great stop for the whole family. Another project of the Mandalay Resort Group, Excalibur has 4008 rooms all in all. Because of the theme, restaurants in Excalibur are named after places and people in King Arthur’s court such as the The Steakhouse at Camelot, The Camelot, Sir Galahad’s Prime Rib House, and the Round Table Buffet. There are also theme-specific dinner shows and family-friendly comedy acts in the comedy bars as well as a great magic shop. The Renaissance Faire Casino comes complete with jugglers, magicians and troubadours.
The Luxor is actually named after a tourist destination in Egypt. The Luxor’s famous point is the brightest beam of light in all of Las Vegas shining miles into the sky. In fact, it can actually be seen when riding the space shuttle! It has 4408 rooms, which are divided into the Pyramid and towers. Like the Excalibur, the names of the restaurants in the Luxor also have Egyptian flavors to them like the Sacred Sea Room, Papyrus, Nile Deli, Hamada’s, and of course the Isis.
