A golf vacation is my favorite pastime and I love playing eighteen holes every time there’s an opportunity and I like to go to new places. Yet, organizing the accommodations, rental car, and tee times on the course of my choice is occasionally as hard as hitting a hole in one.

But that was only before I knew the numerous advantages of booking golf vacations online with many companies that specialize in these types of outings.

There are certain features that I look for in a company that arranges these types of getaways. First, I want a price that is all-inclusive, so I am not surprised by any hidden charges when it’s time to sign on the dotted line.

Golf vacations should also include guaranteed tee times, and I have found that most travel specialists will handle these details to a “tee”!

I had my best time touring several parts of the country for my golf vacations, especially the southern states like Texas, Arizona, Florida, and South Carolina. There are several more destinations that I wish to go to soon including Virginia and Nevada, where I have seen some beautiful courses shown in travel brochures and websites I’ve read thoroughly.

Once I have completed my tour of golf vacations in the continental United States, it will be off to more exotic locations like Mexico and the Caribbean. And how will I get there? On a cruise ship of course! There are cruises that will allow you to play eighteen holes at some of the finest courses in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico, while you enjoy fine accommodations, dining, and entertainment every night. It’s the perfect way to travel!

Golf vacations can vary greatly in the amount of time away — from quick overnight jaunts to long, leisurely treks that include plenty of entertainment off the links. Accommodations can mean anything from a luxury hotel room to a four-bedroom condo, depending on my preferences and my budget. The great variety in golf vacations allows me to enjoy these trips as often as I can fit them into my schedule and budget.

Retirement may be all about spending leisurely days on the greens, but there is no reason why I can’t enjoy a hefty dose of my favorite hobby right now. Reighton Sands Holiday Park is a 3 Star Park in North Yorkshire, located on clifftops with a gorgeous view of five miles of sandy beach running from Speeton to Filey.

Open from March 20th to November 2nd, Reighton Sands is ideally situated for a beach holiday. The Park itself offers quick access to the beach and you’ll find it is ideal for sunbathing, surfing and picnics.

Location

Filey is the closest town to Reighton Sands, a quaint English fishing town located on the North East Coast of England.

Now Filey itself doesn’t offer a lot in the way of things to do apart from enjoying the panoramic views from the clifftop on which the resort is located or enjoying a stroll along the beach which stretches from  Filey Brigg to Speeton. You’ll find most of the interest will lie on the park itself or further afield, but I’ll get into that later.

As with all Haven Holiday Parks Reighton Sands has a tremendous variety of activities on site, in particular there are enough all-weather sports facilities to satisfy the most active family.

There’s rounders and football, or something more out of the ordinary like archery and fencing, activities that are designed to give you something to remember when you leave.

There’s plenty for the little ones to do all day on site, with regular acitivies arranged through the different kids clubs, suitable for kids from tots to teens, or if you feel like it the whole family can take a dip in the swimming pool, where you can do your own thing or take part in the regular SplashZone activities.

The local area offers a lot of opportunity for getting out and about.

Just up the road you’ll find Whitby, the charming fishing resort that was actually the landing place of none-other than the (fictional) Count Dracula when he travelled to these shores from Transylvannia. Or visit the famous Whitby Abbey and the Churchyard that inspired Bram Stoker to pen his blood-sucking tail, make sure you count all the steps to the top of the cliff on which the Abbey stands though.
